The Adaptation And Development Of Ethnic Minority Population From Yunnan In The Coastal Area

Since the reform and opening up, The eastern coastal regions by virtue of its superiorgeographical position, economy has developed rapidly, The culture of science andtechnology have progressed, The people living conditions are relatively good. Yantai, asone of China’s first batch of eastern coastal open city, due to its excellent geographicallocation and living conditions, attracted a large number of rural population of ethnicminorities have come here to live and develop. However, due to the differences in culturalbackground, customs, religious beliefs and so on, the population of ethnic minorities mustlencounter a variety of difficulties and contradictions in the process of adapt ation anddevelopment in eastern coastal areas, which not only prevents the development ofindividual, and also affect the social stability and harmony. So, I think, careful study ofadaptation and development of the population of ethnic minorities in the eastern coastalarea is a real problem for national and social stability and unity and harmonydevelopment. This paper is a field research of the ethnic minority population fromYunnan who are living in Yantai now,the aim is to point out the practical problems duringthe adaptation and development of ethnic minority population in the eastern coastal areasuch as language use, political rights, accounts of the settlement,to analysis the reasons,and to explore the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
