This thesis contributes to looking into the construction and characteristics of thestudent source of Martial Arts schools in Gansu province through the structureanalysis on the student source. Thereby the factors restricting the improvement anddevelopment of the Martial Arts school could be found out according to the effect ofthe construction of the student source. In order to improve the development of MartialArts school in Gansu, the author of this thesis attempts to put forward a series ofschool-running strategies stemming from the experiences summarized on the studentsource. Therefore, the school-running level of Martial Arts school could be improved,at the same time, the resources of human talents could provide to the development ofMartial Arts in Gansu.The author of the thesis mainly adopts the methods of documentation,queationnaire, interviewing, field investigation, mathematical statistics and logicalanalysis to discuss the construction of the student source of Martial Arts schools inGansu, including the structures of age, gender, nationality, motive, knowledge,mentality, acknowledgement, professional basis, family construction and familyorigin. Through the diagnosis and analysis on the structure of student source, theauthor of this thesis could get the conclusion that the origins of the student sourcetend to be single. Most of the students are from the nearby regions not far from theschool, and they all tend to be young and have shallow knowledge about Martial Arts.A large proportion of the students come to Martial Arts school to keep going on theircompulsary education because their poor basic cultural scores stop them going to thecommon school; the others are out of the fondness of the martial arts and bodybuilding. The family origins of the students are mainly peasants, laborers or pedlerswho do not have plenty of time and energy to take good care of their children’seducation and management. The students’ personal study motive and experience, theschools’ enrollment policy and hardware facilities, and the emplotment situation willtogether influence the structure of the student source in Martial Arts school in Gansu.This thesis focuses on the analysis and research about the key factors effecting the structure of the student source from the characteristics and restraints of each aspect inthe construction of the student source. From four aspects of school positioning,hardware improvement, faculty strenthening and system perfection, the author of thisthesis attempts to put forward the hypothesis that the school should take the students’employment orientation to be the cut-in point, and at the same time, stress faculty andthe basic cultural courses through hardware improvement and system perfection.Therefore, the sustainable development of the Martial Arts school in Gansu could beachieved.
