Classroom management is an important factor that makes classroom teachingactivities go smoothly. Effective classroom management shows great and directsignificance not only in improving the teaching quality, but also in improving the physicaland mental development of the students. Teachers, acting as a leader, are responsible forclassroom teaching. However, some of the special natures of university education lead tothe neglence of the importance of public courses in universities. Some special natures ofpublic courses bring much pressure on classroom management to the teachers. Thus, it’snecessary to improve the classroom management of public courses.The research methods of this research are questionnaire survey, interviewing ofstudents and teachers, classroom observations. Subjects in the study are7teachers andtheir students.247student questionnaires have been handed, and243studentquestionnaires have been recovered. The recovery rate was98.4%. The effectivequestionnaires were233, so the effective rate was95.9%. Reliability and validity of thequestionnaires are qualified.13interviewing of teachers and students have been done, and15classroom observations have been holden. After sorting out and analyzing effectivequestionnaires, observation records and interview records, it has been discovered that mostteachers have misbehaviors in classroom management.First, as to the public courses teachers’ self-management, some teachers late for schooland waste the teaching time and some teachers don’t respect and trust the students;someteachers are not kind to the student; some teachers’ humorous language is not enough;some teachers lack of conditional knowledge; some teachers’ teaching methods are notflexible enough.Second, as to the public courses teachers’ management of the students, behaviorproblems of students such as sleeping and playing phone frequently occur in classroom.However, teacher manage the students too loosely and teachers lack classroom disciplinemanagement strategies.Third, as to the public courses teachers’ management of the teaching, some teachers ignore to prepare lessons and lack of some basic steps of teaching. Some teachers’teachingsteps are even wrong.Fourth, as to the public courses teachers’ management of the classroom environment,some teachers don’t care the students too much. Classroom atmosphere is not activeenough. The students in the classroom can not feel easy and enjoyable enough.Based on the above, this study suggests that efforts need to be made the main aspectsare:First, in the self-management of teachers, the school should strengthen the regulatoryregime of teachers; teachers should respect and trust of the students, so that students havea sense of being respected and the sense of trust; teachers and students should make moreexchange and communication,so that the teacher can understand the characteristics ofstudents. Teachers should keep smiling and moderate down the authority of teachers andmake the teaching language more humorous; teachers should strengthen the teaching skills.Second, as to the management of student, teachers should change students ’ attentionto discipline. The students attach importance to discipline but not the teachers’ attitudestoward classroom discipline management; teachers should strengthen students’ interest ofthe courses; teachers should improve classroom teaching to enhance the attractiveness ofthe classroom; teachers should pay more attention to students’ misbehaviors in classroomand the management of classroom discipline; teachers should learn more about classroommanagement strategies to enrich their management methodsThird, as to the management of classroom teaching, teachers should pay attention topreparation and prepare carefully; teachers should carry out every step of classroomteaching very well.Fourth, as to the management of classroom environment, teachers should build aharmonious classroom relationship; teachers should improve classroom atmosphere;teachers should enable students to appreciate the relaxed and pleasant felling in theclassroom.
