Since the Chinese become an independent subject in1904, it has passed100years development. Chinese education completed the magnificent transformation in the frequent changes during the100years. It has become a catalyst for the development of Chinese Education to understand the contents, reasons and rules about every change.In recent years, many people pay attention to Chinese textbook during the Republic of China. The author began to focus on the education of Chinese during this period. To know about the education of Chinese can’t be separated with the Chinese course standard that is the guide programmatic document of Chinese education. And reading teaching is the most important part of Chinese education. The research is based on Chinese curriculum standards in the first half of the20th century. It summarizes and rethinks the content from the primary school’s reading education, which injects vitality into the current reading education content making.Chapter one analyses the background, the significance and methods of the thesis starting from complex and changeable Chinese curriculum standards in the first half of the20th century.Chapter two summarizes the primary school reading teaching content in four periods of the articles of association of the school, the rules of school, curriculum outline and curriculum standards, which is according to the time sequence and the name change rule of Chinese curriculum standard.Chapter three summarizes the change regular of the primary school reading teaching content rules in the first half of the20th century from three parts of Language form, dimension and essence of content.Chapter four expounds the reasons of the evolution about the firs half of the20th century from Chinese subject, social change, western influences.Chapter five is through the reflection in the new era, to give advice that making Chinese reading teaching content must adhere to the local position, pay attention to the language education and consider the timecycle.
