In the process of senior middle school chemistry curriculum reform, there exists a notable characteristic, that it takes much count of the relation of chemical knowledge and living and production. The examination of chemistry curriculum under Basic Education Curriculum Reform, turns from inspecting transformation of substances singly in the past to the inspection under the real situation of chemical industry, which is called examination questions based on chemical industry’s process. In the last few years, the examination questions based on chemical industry’s process of Chinese college entrance examinations all across the country, appear more and more. The conditions of solving these questions by students can reflect the cognition of chemistry and technology of the students. But when students solve these questions, the scores are low. So if teachers know the reasons why students make mistakes, then teachers can change teaching methods and teaching strategies, which can improve the efficiency of teaching. Also it can help students realize the cause of making mistakes, which can improve their studying methods. Teachers can achieve these goals by using teaching diagnosis. Teaching diagnosis is an important function of curriculum and teaching evaluation, which can also promote students to study effectively, overcome the obstructs of study and improve teaching activities. By teaching diagnosis, teachers can not only know the development of students better, but also can regulate the process of curriculums and teaching, achieving win-win of teaching and studying.After reading and generalizing the literatures which can provide theoretical basis to this research, the research can get conclusions making analysis of questionnaire survey and interview survey.This research concludes that the causes why senior high school students make mistakes when they are solving the examination questions based on chemical industry’s process:knowledge mistakes, making mistakes when they examine the topic, making mistakes when they collect and transform the information and fear of the questions. According to the conclusions, this research gives some teaching suggestions:making relationship between chemistry knowledge and production and improving the interesting of studying chemistry of students, basing on the knowledge of elements and their compounds to construct networks of knowledge, taking advantages of Chemistry and Technology to enlarge the knowledge, strengthening exercises, summarizing the methods of solving problems, and improving the abilities of solving problems.This research includes four parts:The first part is the origin of this research, including the background, the significance and purpose, the methods and thinking of the research.The second part is some researches of theories, including the theory of teaching diagnosis, the relationship and the distinction between chemistry and chemical industry, and some theories of examination questions based on chemical industry’s process.The third part is the core of this research, including the investigation procedure, the design and operating of the investigation. After that,this research analyzes the reasons why students make mistakes when they solve examination questions based on chemical industry’s process, and gets the conclusions.The fourth part is the research of strategies. According to the conclusion get in the third part, it comes up with some strategies of solving examination questions based on chemical industry’s process and teaching.
