In numerous literatures and articles about the education of children fromdivorced and single-parent families, the majority of researchers focus on the problemsof those children such as self-contempt, negative mentality, seclusive personality,hostility and lack of sense of security. As a result, children from divorced andsingle-parent families are almost the spokesmen of problem children.However an increasing number of cases demonstrate to us that some children fromsingle-parent families develop normally and even well. What make them break awayfrom the adverse influence of being educated in divorced and single-parent families?This research first adopts documentary method to card the current research at home andabroad on education of children from single-parent families, in order to learn about thefocus point, way of thought, achievements and shortcomings of existing research andthus establish its own research perspective. Then interviews are held to discuss aboutthe10adopted cases of primary school stage with a focus on the documentary index of“healthy development” by use of case study and interviewing methods. This helps toprobe into positive factors of the well-developed children from single-parentbackground and their parents, to summarize the corresponding measures worthy oflearning and to propose some educational suggestions. In the end, in this research arefound that:1, education of children from divorced and single-parent families havediverse results;2, the imcomplete structure of families is not the absolute obstacle forthe development of children;3, under the concerted efforts of single parents, childrenand schools can we overcome the influence of adverse factors to ensure normal andeven healthy development of children.
