Being the hope of the country and nation, college students are the builders andsuccessors of socialist cause. College ideological and political education shoulders themission of cultivating highly-competent people and promoting integrated development ofcollege students. The effectiveness of college ideological and political education is the symbolof college ideological and political education’s vitality and the facts that measure success orfailure of college ideological and political education. In the new period of changing situationsat home and abroad, how to make college ideological and political education highly effectiveis significant to the realization of aims of “a pair of one hundred years” and the ChineseDream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The full text contains forty-nine thousand words and except the introduction andconclusion the full text includes four parts. Part one, the basic theory about the effectivenessof college ideological and political education which is the basis and precondition of thisresearch. The article analyzes the implication, characteristics and types of effectiveness ofcollege ideological and political education based on the meaning and essence of effectiveness.Part two, rational evaluation on effectiveness of college ideological and political education.This part is the principle part of the research. Rational evaluation of effectiveness of collegeideological and political education reflects a kind of construction that incorporates severalevaluating principles, evidences and methods which are are both difference and link betweenthem. Part three, the restraining factors of the effectiveness of college ideological and politicaleducation in the new time. This part expounds from subjectivity factors, objective factors,mesomeric factors and environmental factors. Subjectivity factors mainly manifests that thefoundation of ideological and political educators are unstable and some of them need toimprove their theoretical attainmen and scientific research level. Objective factors shows thatthe objects lack perseverance, comprehensive abilities and relevant knowledge. Mesomericfactors manifests that objectives of college ideological and political education are relativelyimproper; the methods are relatively old-fashioned and the contents are relatively obsolete.Environmental factors mainly shows that globalization infiltrates college students’ awareness; market economy impacts their value; social transformation fluctuates their ideology; networkage changes their life-style. Part four, the ways to enhance effectiveness of college ideologicaland political education in new time. In new time, the improvement of college ideological andpolitical education needs in-depth exploration on practical methods. Based on the physicaltruth of our country, there are several ways to enhance effectiveness of college ideological andpolitical education: strengthening and improving the leadership of college ideological andpolitical education; forming capable and efficient ideological and political educators; carryingforward the reform and innovation of the system of college ideological and politicalcurriculum; exploiting and resourcing the college ideological and political educationalresources; constructing harmonious environment of college ideological and politicaleducation.
