Based on essential differences and teaching practice in Chinese and western languagesand cultural backgrounds, there are great discrepancies in ways of thinking between Chineseand English. In recent years, many studies had focused on the negative transfer of firstlanguage and English writing, but there has been little effort directed to the specific of the firstlanguage thinking modes which negatively influence English writing (Wang Wenyu,2002).As we know, thinking patterns refers to the habit of thinking or the process of thinking.
