Literacy teaching is a basic task of Chinese teaching in primary school, but literacy teaching for the deaf throughout the elementary, middle school and even the entire stage, long way to go:deaf graduates of nine-year compulsory education uneven levels of literacy, is far below standard. The literacy situation is not optimistic. At the same time, because of the lack of voice thinking, lack of vocabulary, logic confusion, taking the words too literally when reading, writing indiscriminate use of words, greatly affect their reading comprehension and writing expression.This paper focuses on literacy teaching of high school matriculation stage, basing on the current level of students and their learning psychology, through the purpose of teaching, teaching methods, teaching evaluation, puts forward some specific teaching strategies:standard Chinese characters written; analyzing the form of characters, accumulating rich vocabulary, appreciating the rich connotation idioms. Let the students understand Chinese characters in specific contexts, and learn the use of text in practice, fully stimulating students’ interest in literacy, improving the teaching effect.Literacy teaching for the deaf students should expand the channels and scope: activity class, extracurricular reading, family life, social life can become the literacy classroom. Let the students appreciate the beauty of the sound and form, through literacy, writing Chinese characters, and enjoy the beauty of the cultural and artistic.
