On Cai Yuanpei’s Aesthetic Education Theory

CAI yuanpei’s aesthetic education thought is in this specialhistorical stage of modern China, and Chinese intellectuals with revival of the Chinesenation to explore in the field of ethics, pedagogy theory achievement. This article tries from the historicalbackground, theoretical basis of the formation essence, content, ethical value andpractical significance of CAI yuanpei’s aesthetic education thought, these five aspectsto analysis:At first, this paper investigates the historical background of CAI yuanpei’saesthetic education thought, in the face of the invasion of western powers and, themodern China were faced with both national crisis and the challenges to thetraditional culture of western culture. CAI yuanpei’s aesthetics thought is the reactionof the respond to the historical responsibility of intellectuals. Second, carding theorigin of CAI yuanpei’s aesthetic education theory, it combed the criticism of westernand Chinese excellent culture, CAI yuanpei’s aesthetics thoughts not only inheritedthe outstanding tradition of Chinese culture such as the ritual, music thoughts, etc., atthe same time integration the essence of western culture like Kant’s aesthetic thoughts,etc., and on the basis of reasonable grafting, integration, transformation andtheoretical creation again.Then, eveluating CAI yuanpei’s aesthetic education thought in the aspect of ethical, it contains a very strong humanistic feelings, in training thecomplete personality has deep significance.
