Cai Yuanpei was a well-known patriotic educator in China during the Republic of China period,and his thoughts were inclusive and profound.Cai Yuanpei's physical thought is the result of his commitment to education.His physical thought laid the foundation for our country's physical thought and is a pearl in the history of our country's educational thought.This research deeply analyzes Cai Yuanpei's physical thoughts,hoping to supplement the research of China's physical thoughts and provide references for the development of China's physical education.This paper mainly adopts literature research method and text analysis method.By sorting out and analyzing Cai Yuanpei's works and literature,he summarized Cai Yuanpei's main ideas;carefully studied Cai Yuanpei's thoughts and background materials,and clarified the logic.This thesis is divided into five parts: the background,theoretical basis,main content,basic measures and evaluation of Cai Yuanpei's physical thought.The first part is the background of Cai Yuanpei's physical thought.The study pointed out that Cai Yuanpei's family history,education,imperial examination experience,foreign education experience,and his political and educational practices have directly or indirectly affected the formation and development of his physical thought.The second part is the theoretical basis of Cai Yuanpei's physical thought.The study pointed out that Cai Yuanpei's world outlook,life outlook and social history outlook made him attach importance to the connection between body and spirit,as well as the significance of individual body and life in society.,Labor education,etc.The third part is the main content of Cai Yuanpei's physical thought.The study pointed out that Cai Yuanpei combined physical education with complete personality education,military national education,and labor education,emphasizing that physical education is not only important for personal physical and mental development,but also played an important role in China's national defense and economic development.The fourth part is Cai Yuanpei's basic measures of physical education.The research pointed out that on the one hand,Cai Yuanpei promoted physical education in schools by compiling textbooks in order to improve the physical fitness of students.On the other hand,he also put forward the concepts of lifelong sports,national sports and women 's sports in order to truly achieve the improvement of national health.aims.In addition,Cai Yuanpei also advocates encouraging people to exercise by holding sports games,but he only promotes cooperative sports and opposes competitive sports,because he believes that competitive sports violate the purpose of physical education to be reconciled.The fifth part is the evaluation of Cai Yuanpei's physical education.The study pointed out that although limited by the social background and ideological trends at that time,Cai Yuanpei's physical thoughts had defects such as biased national defense and underestimation of competitiveness,but they still played an important role in improving sports status and promoting the development of national defense.Contemporary educators should also pay attention to the important role of physical education in physical and mental growth and development of national defense,popularize physical education,and promote national sports.Through this research,I hope people can have a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of Cai Yuanpei's physical thought.We can inherit and carry forward the part of Cai Yuanpei's physical thought that is conducive to promoting the development of school sports in China,and promote the development of physical education in China.At the same time,this paper can also express Cai Yuanpei's brilliant patriotic educator's thoughts and express our respect for him.
