The "Chinese Dream" proposed by Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping represents the good wishes of theChinese people for a country with prosperity and great powers. The Chinese Dream contains not only therapid development of in the economy field, but also the cultural prosperity and Inheritance.In the current world, the globalization has been a tendency and cannot be halted. Along with thedevelopment and innovation in the economy, science and technology, people contact with each other moreconveniently, and the transmission of information becomes easier and faster. The east culture and the westculture are experiencing a time of fusion and collision, which is unprecedented. As people of a greatcountry with thousand years of history and culture, Chinese people should think deeply about the lack ofknowledge of Chinese traditional historical culture. How to widely spread Chinese culture with Chinesecharacteristics is what we need to pay more attention to. The revitalization of Chinese traditional culture,inheriting excellent history has become the primary task of our present social development. To offer thehistory curriculum in the stage of secondary education, therefore, is the groundwork for completing thetask.It is the basic function and purpose of the history education that to make the young people learn moreabout the historical development of their country and thus strengthen their patriotism feeling in the historyclass. While, through the history education the learners know more about the society and therefore have agood life in the society, which is the ultimate goal of the history lesson. Local history education is one ofthe favorable ways to achieve the ultimate goal. Our purpose of offering the history lesson is to provideservice for the realistic society so that people can live better in the real society life. Local history is close tostudents’ real life. It is Easier for students to understand and accept the local history that happened aroundthem and then enhance their interest in local history, which lay a solid foundation for their in-depthlearning of history-related issues in the future.Local history education can also enhance the students’ personal morality. With the people and thingsaround to urge the healthy growth of teenagers, the master scientific knowledge at the same time, moreimportant is to adapt to the development of the society, learn to be. It is to guide the young growing in ahealthy way with the people and things that around them and to make them adapt to the social development.Truly, it is important to let them master the science and technology knowledge, but what is more important;students should know how to adapt to the society and how to behave in the society with the local historyeducation. This is the most fundamental purpose for us to implement the education. In addition, it isrequired to promote the development of the history discipline through the local history education. Bothexploratory and practice courses could be conducted by applying local history. The reform of the historyclass also should lay its foundation on the local history education.In China, the importance of local history has been paid a lot of attention and mentioned by manyhistory educators. However, the local history education develops very slowly and difficultly due to variouslimitations including education system and examination system. History discipline itself in the stage ofsecondary education has been marginalized, thus the local history which is marginalized in the history discipline system is of more ignorance. After recognizing the importance of local history education in thehistory education in the stage of secondary education, it can be learned that how to develop local history tochange the status of local history education and then implement the local history education in practiceshould be the key point for current researchers. The education of local history is an indispensable part in thehistory education system. It not only meets to the development needs of modern society but also accordswith the features of heart development of students, what is more, it is conducive to the improvement andinnovation of history education.,It is imperative to strengthen the education of local history all-around.Characteristics of the local history education is what the current history curriculum reform needs, andthe development of local history resources needs to be strengthened while more effective measures andregulations should be adopted to ensure the education activities and improve the overall level of the localhistorical education to cultivate high-quality talents for local regions and our country.The implement of the local history education includes the arrangement of courses, the edition ofteaching materials, the evaluation and management of academic level and the training for professionalteachers. In the development of China’s local history education in the stage of secondary education, thecurriculum has been advocated for a long time but there is no rigid rules to supervise its implementation;the textbook are rich and colorful but their quality are not in the same level; the evaluation andmanagement of academic level are lack of the corresponding arrangement; the training and skillenhancement for professional teachers are lack of funds support and related departments’ support. It is thepremise and groundwork to solve the above issues for a good implement of the local history education.
