Study On Political Belief Of College Students Of Modern Times

Belief is a mental phenomena, emerging with the emergence of the human race and developing withthe development of the human society. It shows up as members’ believing and following of certaincosmology, philosophy, values and social outlook. Belief provides people with social value and life value,guiding and controlling believers’ social activities and spiritual activities, thus affecting human socialactivities. Political beliefs as one significant form of the belief system, is not only an indispensable spiritualsupport for human social activities, but also a guide for one’s political behavior. A man without politicalbelief, will be at a loss for lacking of a clear goal, while those who have a belief will get a clear life purposeand social pattern. University students as a group enjoy a huge potential for development in an era, bearingthe hope of era development. Contemporary college students’ political belief correctly or not, not onlyaffecting their own healthy growth, but also related to the future and destiny of a country or a nation.Strengthening political belief education of contemporary college students, is not only the needs oftheir all-around development, but an important content of the construction of socialist spiritual civilizationand political civilization. This article starts from a research of this topic, basing on an analysis of the relatedconcepts of belief and political belief, using the analysis of the investigation, describing the presentsituation of the contemporary college students’ political belief: the mainstream of contemporary collegestudents’ political belief is good. They have deep love for socialism and feel absolutely convinced that ourcountry should choose the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. They have great confidence inChina’s national drive of socialist modernization. They fully trust the Communist Party of China. Theysupport policies and lines made our Party and government. They have profound feelings towards ChineseCommunist. They have enthusiasm for China Dream which aims to realize the great rejuvenation ofChinese nation. However, there are some students who are confused in their political belief in differentdegrees, including the nationalization of faith, the diversity and the utilitarian of belief. For some collegestudents’ confusion in political beliefs, this paper tries to explore the reasons from all directions.This article explores the causes of part of college students’ confusion in political beliefs mainly fromthese perspectives: the international environment, the social transformation and political belief education environment. International environment mainly consists of the international socialist movement suffers amajor setback, western hostile forces implement the strategy of peaceful evolution to our country and theinfluence of several major social ideas in the multicultural surges. Social environment also plays animportant role in establishing a correct political belief for contemporary college students, especially thedramatic transformation of our society deeply influences the contemporary college students’ politicalbeliefs. The economic transformation and marketization, political transition and corruption phenomena, thetransformation of social structure, the diversification of the cultural orientation after cultural transformation,all these factors brought a certain degree of impact on the contemporary college students’ political beliefs.Colleges as the main channel of political belief, directly affecting the contemporary college students’political judgment of value and choice, political attitude and view. At present, belief education has beenneglected to a certain degree. Some educators’ education and teaching method is not perfect, part of thecollege students’ own fuzzy understanding, these elements also weakens the contemporary college students’identification of the dominant political beliefs in China to some extent.The last part of the article attempts to explore the principles and paths of strengthening beliefeducation of contemporary college students. In the process of strengthening education of contemporarycollege students’ belief, we should insist on the principle of direction, democracy principle, the principle ofsubjectivity and hierarchy. In real practice, we should strengthen the political belief education ofcontemporary college students from the following several aspects: First, strengthening the theoreticalinnovation of mainstream political beliefs; Second, improving the way of political belief educationpropaganda; Third, integrating the public opinion fields of the political belief; Fourth, optimizing thepolitical belief education of economic, political and cultural environment.
