A Study On Cultivating The Political Belief Of Contemporary College Students Of China

Political belief, as the highest-valued ideal target of politics and the belief in its implementation, has penetrated into various aspects like political consciousness, and it is the soul of political life. Communist belief brings spiritual motives to the development of China and leads to dramatic changes of China. Chinese young people, on the path of true faith, have undergone continual ups and downs in devotion and firmness, extremism and fanaticism, introspection and indifference, unrestrainedness and noninterference, Nationalism. The output of values from foreign campaigns and hostile forces has shocked the belief of young people. The government's failure in mastering and guiding deviated the belief of young people and resulted in sense of missing and lost.The youth, especially graduates students, are the elite resources and backbone of future of our nation, so their lacking and mistaken of political belief is bound to cause the chaos of political life, influence the stability of political order even the development of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It can be seen from the passing lessons that if we fail in mastering the trends of undergraduate belief and in adopting preventive approach to belief crisis, we will soon lose the successors of the communist cause. Hence, it is worth the whole society's close attention to correct mastering of undergraduate political belief in order to design scientific and effective cultivation schemes on purpose.The research on political belief starts with either various political theoretical systems or the difference among various ideologies. The domestic research on undergraduate political belief mainly proceeds with the following aspects:its connotation, value and function, its formation mechanism, the crisis and cultivation of belief among the undergraduates. This topic defines and distinguishes political beliefs with faith, religious belief, ideal and belief and political socialization, and then describes the connotation and characteristics, structure and function, emergence and formation mechanism of political beliefs on the basis of previous researches. In order to be more persuasive, the fourth chapter of this dissertation based on the investigation report of political beliefs of undergraduates of our country since2000, the author designs the questionnaires and interview questions and investigated nine universities in Chengdu in2009-2010. According to the analysis of questionnaires, the author gets the conclusion that political beliefs of current university students have characteristics such as three positive tropisms and three negative tropisms. The features of positive tropism are that the degree of patriotic feeling, sense of social responsibility and political identity is high, and it is full of desires and hopes for future. The features of negative tropism are complex diversity, indifference, de-politicized and secular utility. After analysis, the formation of negative tropism is obviously related to the family environment of students, the effectiveness of party and government, the setting of ideological and political education in the school and the social information the individual contacted in his daily life.According to the negative tropism displayed in survey, the author proposed the linkage cultivation mechanism of government, schools, communities and individuals, the comprehensive incentive mechanism and scientific evaluation mechanism; the author also proposed the path that government should dominate it and enhance performance and optimize the reform; seize the starting point of family to improve the scientificity of school education; with the promotion of media as news and networks, and with the practice and training opportunities of social organization. In the process of cultivating political belief, we should stick to the guiding principle of layered procession. we also should include the unity of individual needs and social progress. In this way, it is bound to reduce or eliminate the negative trends of political beliefs of current college students, to further guide and remodel the political beliefs of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics of graduates.
