Textbooks as embodies of national culture, national will, social change and developmentof education is the achievement of the development goals of the most direct carrier. In acertain sense, a State textbook decides over the future of a country. Ideological and politicaltheory courses in colleges and universities is college students’ main channel and the mainposition which the party and the country makes systematic education of Marxist theory, andpractice response to the latest theoretical achievement of Marxism in China. Among them, theideological and political theory course in textbooks as an indispensable part of the entireconstruction of ideological and political theory course, are both the necessary tools to increasestudents’ knowledge and important medium of communication of Marxism in its theory, are adominant national ideological indoctrination path. Its history reflects the historical mission ofideological and political education in colleges and universities, also reflected signs of thetimes of a Marxist ideology. Therefore, studying the textbooks of ideological and politicaltheory courses in colleges and universities since the founding of PRC, must be based on “timeto change” of ideological and political theory courses, put them in a historical andcontemporary context of to make a perception and understanding. This article from a textbookperspective of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities, primarilysyudy through the “CPC” study and subsequent evolution textbooks, and profoundly revealsthe unique value and function are passed from the different historical periods of ideologicaland political theory curriculum of Chinese textbooks, has interpretation of significant valueand education of socialist theory with Chinese characteristics change in Chinese modern andcontemporary history. In addition to an introduction to this article, on the outside, the mainpart consists of four chapters constitute, main contents of each chapter are summarized asfollows:Introduction, by briefly the origin and significance of this paper on the basis, focuses onresearching concepts and describing the text selection, examined in some detail and dynamics associated with this study, and has a brief description of research ideas, contents, methods andinnovations.The first chapter is about the early origins of ideological and political education andtextbooks in new China. Primary by educational theory from the Soviet Union, theKuomintang party and the CPC’s ideological and political education theory and practice,study the origins of textbooks ofideological and political theory courses in colleges anduniversities since the founding of CPC. Focus on the study of educational theory and practicefor new China effect on textbooks of ideological and political education in colleges anduniversities, pointed out that textbooks of ideological and political theory courses in collegesand universities in the new China are not come out of nowhere, having a profound source ofeducational theory and practice.The second chapter is about ideological and political theory’s curriculum and textbookevolution.
