The Spatial Variation Of The Economic Gravity Center And The Population-employment Gravity Center From1978-2010in Guangxi

The problem of population and economy has always been the focus of scholars athome and abroad,and has made certain research results as an important indicator of thedevelopment of regional economy.Some experts and scholars used the method of gravitycenter and combined with the process of regional economic development policyexperience in order to reveal the development and evolution of the population andeconomic in the long-term study,which provided a strong theoretical basis for studying thepolicy of the coordinated regional development.Since the reform and opening up,theeconomic of China sustained growth, the regional economy and population has beendeveloped quickly.Especially since the Development of the West Regions has beenimplemented,the western region has made great progress in all aspects of economicdevelopment.And Guangxi adjacents to the eastern coastal areas of the Pearl River Deltaas one of the major provinces in the southwest access to the sea route,which thedevelopment of population and economic has a great influence on the development of thewhole process of western region. Therefore,it is an urgent and important thing to study thegravity center of economic and population.It’ll make a detailed study on the spatial evolvement of the economy gravity centerand the population-employment gravity center of1978-2010years in Guangxi by usingthe basic principles of human geography,economic geography and regionaleconomics,basing on the regional gravity model,and as the basic unit to the14cities ofGuangxi province.Conclusions are found as follows:①The economy gravity center islocated in the southeast of the geometric center.It mainly transfered to the southeast fromthe northeast,and moved more quickly in latitudes than in longitude.With the strongestcorrelation and the largest contribution to the economy gravity center is the secondindustrial output gravity center,following by the third industrial output gravity center,firstindustrial output gravity center,consumption gravity center,fixed assets gravitycenter,revenue gravity center.②The feature of the population gravity center is distributionimbalance.It mainly transfered to the southeast from the northwest.Influencing factors ofthe population gravity center include natural environment,economicdevelopment.Besides,the policies of economic and population and birth control also play an important part in the migration of population gravity center.③The employment gravitycenter is located in the southeast of the geometric center.It mainly transfered to thesouthwast, and moved more quickly in latitudes than in longitude.The distribution ofemployment gravity center is mainly related with the economic restructuring and threeindustrial layout.Comparison of economy gravity center and population-employment gravity center of1978-2010years in Guangxi.The results can be seen that there are similarity anddifferences between the evolution of three gravity centers.The similarity is the threegravity centers are located in the southeast of the geometric center.It shows that thesouthern area of Guangxi is the highly concentrated area for the economy gravity centerand population-employment gravity center.The differences are that the economic gravitycenter was east and transfered to the southwest,the population-employment gravitycenter was west and the population gravity center transfered to the southeast,theemployment gravity center transfered to the southwest. There are some obvious deviationbetween the three gravity centers. It shows that the southern area of Guangxi whileproviding certain employment opportunities to alleviate the employment pressure in theperiod of economy develop rapidly,but not be able to absorb a large amount of populationfrom other regional.It resulted in existing imbalance between the economic developmentand population aggregation,employment distribution.The gap significantly between thenorth and south area of Guangxi.Therefore,we must correctly handle the relationshipbetween the economiy and the population,solving the contradiction of employment.So thatthey can maintain a balanced development of the state in order to promote the economyof Guangxi sustained harmonious development.
