A in the process of creation, development and expansion of colleges and universities willform their own unique history. History is an aggregate of all material and non-materialelements of colleges and universities, is for the teaching idea and teaching guiding ideologyof the true embodiment. Currently in the process of conducting ideological and politicaleducation, give full play to the unique advantages of school history education, improve theeffectiveness of ideological and political education is very necessary. In recent years, with theaccelerating steps of reform and opening up, China’s colleges and universities all over in thekey period of experiencing education teaching reform, especially under the influence offoreign culture, the current ideological and political literacy of university students in China,there is a series of changes. In this double at the same time, the change of how the two changecleverly integrated into the college ideological and political education of the ideological andpolitical education is all workers to study important issue. And the use of history, to carry outthe ideological and political education can promote the development of university history andwin-win of student’s ideological and political education. At present, our country has beenmore and more domestic scholars begin to ideological and political education on history ofresource development, the ideological and political education in this new opportunity in frontof the ideological and political education of college students also ushered in the importantperiod of innovation. This article is divided into four parts for history in the function ofideological and political education and its realization path for shallow research study. Thispaper is divided into four main parts:The first part, the relationship between history and the ideological and political education,this part mainly expounds the related concepts of history, the main functions of the historyand the relationship between history and the ideological and political education from threeaspects of content, so as to clear the theoretical obstacle for follow-up study.The second part, history to strengthen college students’ ideological and political educationof the important value and unique advantages. This part mainly discusses the history in theideological and political education value, include to arouse students’ patriotic emotion, strengthen the social responsibility of college students and improve students’ humane quality,cultivate students’ character; Secondly discusses the history of the unique advantages,including accord with cognitive law, education law, four aspects: students’ mental and timerequirements.The third part, the history education to the ideological and political education of collegestudents the problems and cause analysis. Considering the current reality of ideological andpolitical education in colleges and universities, analyzes the problems existing in schoolhistory education and find out the cause of the deep, countermeasures for the last part of theresearch direction.The fourth part, the history in college students’ ideological and political education torealize the function of the path. This part mainly expounds the use of school resources inideological and political education of specific measures, including school history educationelective courses and practice, to strengthen the construction of project research and teachingmaterial write, school history museums as the core of school history education base andstrengthening the construction of university history museum staff team of four aspects. In thispaper, in the process of research due to the limitation of various conditions, there are manyshortcomings of, also want to get the comment as experts and teachers.
