Objective:This study is aimed at screening comprehensive evaluation index system of muscle endurance for the middle-aged and elderly by the theoretical and empirical research, and condensing the best option in the methodology system of setting comprehensive evaluation standards, so that it could provide the basis for setting comprehensive evaluation criteria in the future. Methods:First of all, this study screened evaluation indicators of muscle endurance through literature and interviews; Second, it tested the difficulty, reliability, validity, objectivity of the indicators through the muscle endurance test and sEMG test, to screen a comprehensive evaluation index system for the middle-aged and elderly; Finally, to explore the comprehensive evaluation standard, the study recruited 478 (203male,275female)healthy persons aged over 40 years old to standardize test, and had tried to set a standard by comparing progressive score and percentile method.Results:(1) After calculating the difficulty of the index, fixed load arm curl tests(30s&60s、the front plank and chair stand (30s&60s)come into the index system by 100%、100%、90.70%、96.40% and 89.30%.(2) The results of Joint analysis of EMG spectrum and amplitude(JASA) showed that the endurance indicators can monitor the occurrence of fatigue effectively, which indicated that the selected indexs were in line with the requirements of validity.(3)The analysis of the fit line concerning the change of the iEMG slope showed that it was better to choose 60s to make people feel tired or exhausted than 30s,so that the indexs had good validity.(4) Reliability analysis showed that revelent levels of two experiments were significant and the correlation coefficient was 0.989 and 0.970, separately. Difference analysis showed that though difference with different extent existed, but the difference had no significance (P>0.05).So indexs in this research have good stability and higher reliability.(5) Objectivity results presented that indexes in two experiments had highly correlation with 0.907 and 0.956. Difference analysis showed no significance (P>0.05).So indexs in this research meet the objective demand of indexes system.Conclusions:(1) The muscular endurance evaluation indexs for the middle-aged and elderly included 60 sec arm curl test、plank and 60 sec chair stand test.(2) It was tested that the index system met the requirements of the evaluation index screening in the aspect of feasibility and scientificity through the repeated test and the analysis of sEMG.(3) By comparing the progressive score and percentile method, it showed to be more objective and more rational to set comprehensive evaluation standards of muscular endurance using the progressive score.
