| Language learning is a complicated process, listening plays the most important role among the five skills, which contain listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation. Over the years, more and more researchers have begun to study listening, many scholars at home and abroad also do a lot of listening researches from different angles. Among them, the learners’ affective factors that influence on listening also are paid more attention, in recent years, there are many researches of the college students’ listening anxiety and listening strategy, and many achievements have been made, but the study on secondary vocational school students is a lack, so this paper examines minutely the correlation between English listening anxiety and listening strategies of Fenyang Normal School English majors by using quantitative and qualitative research methods. The thesis mainly explores the following three aspects: the state of the subjects’ English listening anxiety, the use of listening strategy between the high and low anxiety group of subjects and the correlation between listening strategy and listening anxiety.This paper chooses to use the questionnaire and interview methods, 59 Fenyang Teachers’ Normal School English Majors are investigated. Then the author collects the relevant data and uses social science statistical software SPSS 17.0 to make descriptive analysis, statistical analysis, the correlation coefficient of paired sample T-test analysis and independent sample T-test analysis. In the Pre-test, the study investigates 59 subjects’ background information and the correlation between listening anxiety and the use frequency of listening strategy. On this basis, the author divides subjects into experimental group and control group. And experimental group are given listening strategy training for about three months. After strategy training, this study uses the same questionnaire again measuring the participants’ listening anxiety and the use of frequency listening strategy. According to the data, the paper tries to further determine the relationship between listening anxiety and listening strategy by using independent sample T-test and paired sample T-test analysis methods.The results show that English listening anxiety is widely exists in secondary vocational school students’ listening learning; students’ listening anxiety level is also obviously negatively correlated with the use frequency of listening strategy. In addition, high and low anxiety groups have obvious differences in the use of listening strategies. What’s more, the author tries to explore the main reasons of listening anxiety for the secondary vocational students by interviews. And the result shows that the characteristics of listening and listeners themselves are two major factors that cause anxiety in listening comprehension.Finally, according to the research results of this paper, the author gives some suggestions on listening teaching of vocational schools, and hopes this article can help the secondary vocational teachers and students to better perceive the relationship between listening anxiety and listening strategy; hopes this paper can make the secondary vocational English teachers realize the necessity of training students’ listening comprehension strategies in listening teaching, So teachers can try to adopt effective measures to help students overcome listening anxiety and improve their confidence in listening study, eventually to achieve the goal of improving the students’ English listening level. |
