Great changes occurred in the urban fringe with the rapid development of China’s economy. People are rich, but less knowledge they feel inferior. So, they put all their hopes on children in the hope that they can gain enough knowledge and ability in the classroom.As a result, the research of urban fringe pupils in mathematics classroom learning state is imperative.An investigation including 6 classes in grade 3-5 is implemented in Chengdu Haibing Primary School with the self-designed " urban fringe pupils in mathematics classroom learning state questionnaire". Combining a variety of research methods,mathematics class leaning state is poor in urban fringe primary school according to prepared state, participation state, contacts state, thinking state and generated state. The reasons for the poor mathematics class learning state of pupils are expected to be discovered from the above five aspects. Recommendations of keeping the best class learning state are proposed.Hope to provide teachers and education policymakers with some theoretical and practical implications.
