With the deepening reform of higher education in China, private colleges are playing a more and more important role in the national higher educational system, and they have been developing a lot of excellent talents.At the same time, private colleges are facing more severe challenges, and an effective means to deal with the challenges is to cultivate a high-quality, stable team of professional teachers. However, the management mechanism to stabilize the teaching team has not yet been mature and perfect, which has been causing the loss of teachers. Teachers, the important part of teaching human resources in colleges, and also one of the main body, play an important role in school teaching, scientific research and so on.Teachers loss will directly affect the quality of the school’s teaching and teaching team development, and then restrict the development of private colleges. Under this context, how to stabilize the excellent teachers and make good use of them, how to build a good development environment for teachers, is the main challenge for private colleges and it’s managers to be solved.In this article, the author first gives an explanation to private colleges, private colleges teachers, teachers loss, and then clearly make the full-time teachers in private colleges as the study object. Integrating with the actual situation of the private colleges in Shandong province, four private colleges has been selected as study samples for empirical investigation.By the quantitative questionnaire and structured interview of qualitative method to get data. By the investigation of the four private colleges, the author found that teaching staff leaving is common in the four colleges in different levels, and leaving has brought loss of different degrees.The reasons for the leaving is usually under national policies side,colleges side and teachers side.Through the analysis of the reasons, the author gives some suggestions from national and college sides and the author hopefully that the suggestions can be helpful to governors and managers in private colleges.Through the study in this article, the author thinks that, for teaching team development in private colleges, there are not only universal problems such as the imperfect management and unstable teaching treatments, but also it’s own characteristics namely the competition,massive loss. Therefore, Private colleges, therefore, managers in private colleges must set up the long-term vision, to retain teachers, to protect the rights and interests of teachers, to enhance teachers’sense of identity.
