The author is a teacher who has been devoted to the forefront of education for a long time.She finds that with higher grades, the number of students with learning difficulties becomes larger. The purpose of this study is to give high priority to reducing the number of students with learning difficulties and making every effort to raise students’ interest in Mathematics with the help of families’ cooperations and proper teaching methods so that mathematics no longer becomes students’ stumbling block during their learning.Moreover,this paper is aimed at cultivating students’ good memory,observation habit and so on.In the course of the study, the writer firstly refered to a large number of literature reviews on the causes and solutions of students with learning difficulties.However,the writer found that the analysis of the contributing factors to students with learning difficulties are very simple, especially related to mathematics; the solution is not rich and lack of operational uses. Therefore the author selected 30 students with learning difficulties and 30 excellent students respectively among 310 students in the first and second grade of a certain elementary school in local city.Then the author has conducted questionnaires and individual interviews on students with learning difficulties and also conducted questionnaires on parents of the students with learning difficulties and parents of excellent students.Moreover,the writer generalized reasons for students’ Mathematics learning difficulities in lower grades by combining the author’s experiences of mathematics teaching in lower grades in recent years, selecting some representative cases and conducting specific case studies.Therefore,the author has summarized some practical and feasible solution.This paper is divided into the following sections: Firstly, it discusses the background and significance of the paper and it defines the students with learning difficulities and students with mathematical learning difficulties. Due to the uncertainty of the research result, it explains the basis for using qualitative methods as the way of study. Secondly, the author has referred to the literature review of the causes and solutions on students’ mathematics learning difficulties and summarized them.More importantly,the author has conducted surveys and individual interview on students’ with learning difficulties.Thirdly,the author has carried on questionnaires on parents of students with learning difficulties and excellent students;selected several typical students with learning difficulties and conducted observations on their learning and living.Fourthly,it analyzes the result of the quesionnaire,interview and classroom observation from the aspect of family,school and student.Therefore,it generalizes the reasons of Mathematics learning difficulties in lower grade.Finally,it raises effective and feasible solutions,namely,if we give more priority to students’ capability and carries on some efficient and practical methods which the teachers can adopt during Mathematical teaching in lower grades with the cooperation of family,school and students,Mathematical teaching and learning is bound to be more interesting and diversified.
