Many domestic English teaching experts have advocated task-based reading teaching method, which emphasized the importance of students’ awareness and cooperation, thus by using this method to achieve teaching goal and acquire the knowledge of language. On the new English curriculum standard, which first proposed to combine the interactive reading model and task-based teaching method, aims to develop students’ ability of acquiring information, meanwhile, students also can master the correct method of reading strategies. Therefore, this study actively explore and improve the way to design the task based on the interactive reading model. The research has given the investigation and analysis of students’ English reading situation in Zigong No.1 middle school, by collecting and analyzing the information, to find students’ reading problem. In the process of traditional reading teach, teacher always put the importance on the method of lecture, so the atmosphere of reading class is very boring, the students are difficult to participate in the reading activities. Due to the excessive emphasis on the language knowledge and ignored the development of students’ reading skills, students can not improve their reading ability. Because of the above problems, the goal of this study is to research the solution of these problems, design the reading task based on interactive reading model, in order to improve students’ reading ability.
