In daily life, we couldn’t put knowledge into use. It is hard for us to make the knowledge which we have learned from books in class useful in real life. However, these knowledge is linked closely with our live, which is also what the practical learning study should research.The separations between theory and practice, between the isolation of knowledge and the application of it, and between the development of society and people’s life cause that people lack the ability of practice and the innovative spirit, which also become the main obstacles of the development of people. Practical learning is a new style of learning method which combines theory with practice and unites knowledge and experience. This kind of study way insists people having the same or more learning opportunities in real life, in society and workplace rather than in classroom. Moreover, these kind of study by practical learning has more personal meaning and survival value, and this new learning style has a great vitality in the modern society as well.However, the concept of practical learning has not been determined. What does the practical learning study? How to learn it? What is the unique effect of the practical learning? These kinds of questions are still not answered. With these questions, this article has consulted the related research, and integrated philosophy, psychology, pedagogy and sociology into study so that it can focus on the following questions: first, the definition of practical learning and profound connotation; secondly, the structure and function of practical learning; thirdly, the form of practical learning and way of practical learning; forth, the implementation and the strategies of practical study.This study argues that, as a new style of learn, the practical learning emphasizes learning from real environment, and emphasizes to give learners’ rights of subjectivity and motivation by acting the actual role into study. With this kind of study, the content of the learners’ learning is not only to explicit knowledge, but also included implicit knowledge, personal experience and so on. At the same time, the knowledge has more significance and value for learners, because it comes from the learner’s practice, derives from the combination of theory and practice, the combination of knowledge and application, and the combination of development and the real life in society.
