As a multinational country, China cannot pursue its development without the development of its peoples, so that the minorities’ developments deserve close attention of the government.Most city dwellers of the Hui Muslim live together with other peoples in mixed ethnic neighborhoods, and their living conditions have gained more social attention, and attracted domestic academe to conduct researches on them.This article describes the transformation and lifestyle diversity of the Hui ethnic group living in qiyi road since the founding of PRC in 1949,also discusses and analyzes the causes of their lifestyle diversity and the trend of integrative development between the Han and the hui people.The developments and the lifestyle diversity of the Huis indicate their survival wisdom that they should not only absorb the Han’s culture,but also maintain their own cultural traditions in the process of their own development.This article can be divided into six parts. As the introduction part, the first part introduces the research background, documentation overview, research idea and methods of this article.The second part describes the origin of qiyi road, as well as its population composition, education and religious belief.The third part discusses the living conditions of the Huis living in qiyiroad. The forth part describes the transformation and lifestyle diversity of the Huis. The fifth part analyzes the causes of transformation and diversity of lifestyle argued in the previous part. The sixth part presents some strategies and reconsiderations on urban living style of the Islam-believed Huis.The core of these strategies and reconsiderations is that, in order to materialize their economic development, minority groups should combine their cultural development with that of the Han on the basis of adhering to ethnic policy.As a multinational country, China cannot pursue its development without the development of its peoples, so that the minorities’ developments deserve close attention of the government.
