Study On The Current Situation And Developing Counter Measures Of College Student Volunteers’ Service In The Track And Field Events In Nanjing Youth Olympic Games

With the development of voluntary service, college students have gradually become the main power of such kind of service in China. In recent years, our country has successfully held the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2013 Asian Youth Games, and the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games. The Youth Olympic Games, as an international sports competition, has relatively standard competition rules and volunteer managements. In particular, the track and field competitions are the major events in the Olympic Games. Therefore, choose the research event. Undoubtedly, volunteers’ hard work is indispensable to the successful hosting of any sports events. A large number of sports volunteers must be the strong security of voluntary service as well as the success of any sports competitions.This paper takes college student volunteers of track and field events in Nanjing Youth Olympic Games as investigation objects and the their service as research objects. We do this empirical research through documents, questionnaires, interviews, mathematical statistics and logic analysis, etc.According to the subjective understanding of sports voluntary activities among college student volunteers in the track and field events in Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, studying in the condition of volunteer recruitment, positions, training contents and methods, volunteers’ security and incentives, we do research in the volunteers’ timetable, ways to go into and out of the fields, responsibilities and the difficulties, evaluation, recognition and severance, etc. we are aimed to further understand the current situation of college student voluntary service in sports events in China, trying to summarize the existing phenomena and problems of college students voluntary service in the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games and provide some countermeasures.Finally, we have got the following conclusions:1.The sex ratio is coordinated but there is uneven distribution in grade. The level of education and foreign language has no special requirement2.The college students have taken an active part in sports volunteer activities, but still need to further improve the sense of responsibility and values3.The recruitment and selection of objects are relatively concentrated, which leads to a limited participation4.The training contents are comprehensive but not deep5.The scope of security is wide but insufficient6.The incentives are diverse, while the assessment mechanism needs to be perfectTherefore, we’d like to propose the following countermeasures in order to achieve further improvements:1.Make scientific recruitment and strict selection2.Cultivate college students’ sense of social responsibility and promote their values3.Give thorough training and improve the training mechanism4.Strengthen the security enforcement of law, spirit and matter and perfect the security system5.Complete the appraisal mechanism to make sure openness, fairness and justice...
