Pole vault project is an athletics track and field project of high difficulty, entertaining, currently have different development level varies from country to country, one of the main reason is the understanding of the winning rule of pole vault project is not comprehensive. In this sense, it is essential to have a better understanding of the key factors and laws of winning in sportsmen’s training and the competition. In this thesis, with a more systematic and scientific way, I’m trying to enrich the researches on the theories of Pole Vault in China and to help people have a clearer and more scientific understanding of the key factors and laws of winning in Pole Vault. What’s more, I hope to provide the Pole-Vault sportsmen a scientific theory and guide of training and to narrow down the gap between the level of Pole Vault in China and that in the world.This research applies the method of literature materials, and the mathematical statistics, and particularly, it applies the multivariate analysis of variance and the stepwise regression analysis in sport. In the research, more than 30 high-level male Pole Vault athletes both at home and aboard are the subjects and I collect the available data which are related with the documents with the application of the method of Meta-analysis.And after the further analyzing and classification of the data with excel, SPSS17.0 and other data processing software, it is concluded that:(1) The Equation of the Pole Vault regression concluded from the Stepwise Regression Analysis is Y=-0.274+1.028X3+0.986X2-0.929X4+0.014X1(Y is performance X, is the horizontal speed; X2 is the prance height; X3 is the Pole Vaulting height; and X4 is the height difference between the Gravity and the pole)(2) These 30 excellent international Pole Vault athletes which are the subjects of the research are all in line with the calculation formula H=2L+20cm;The Pole Vaulting height of the athlete is highly correlated with the athlete’s performance, and the higher the Pole Vaulting height is, the better the performance of the athlete is; The actual hardness of the Poles is moderately correlated with the athlete’s performance, the hardness of the poles used in the Pole Vault is higher, the better the performance of the athlete is; Takeoff time and performance are in a moderate negative correlation. The shorter the takeoff time is, and the quicker the takeoff is, the better the performance of the athlete is. The take-off angle is negatively related to the performance. It shows that tiny the angle is, the well performance of the athlete is.(3) The 30 excellent international Pole Vault athletes in this research, and the heavier the athletes are, the higher their pole vaulting height is. Their pole vaulting height is moderately correlated with their run-up speed, and the faster the run-up is, the higher the pole vaulting height required is. There is a low positive correlation between the pole vaulting and the pole-string distance (which reflects the degree of the bending of the pole when vaulting the pole), and within a certain range of the level of the competitive ability, the higher the pole vaulting is, the longer the pole-string distance is, and the more bent the pole is. The hardness of the pole is positively correlated with the weight of the athletes, and the heavier the athletes are, the larger the hardness of the pole is.(4) The run-up speed of these 30 excellent international athletes are positively correlated with their performance, and the faster their run-up is, the better their performance in the competition is. The run-up speed is positively correlated with the angle between the pole and the ground, while the loss of the horizontal speed in the process of the athletes’ taking off is positively correlated with the athletes’ performance, and this demonstrates that less the loss of the horizontal speed in the process of taking off is, the better the athletes’ performance is.(5) The height of the center of Gravity of these 30 excellent international athletes when they jump over the pole is positively correlated with the athletes’ performance, and the higher the center of Gravity is when they jump over the pole, the better the performance is. There is a moderately negative correlation between the height of prancing of the athletes and the loss of the horizontal speed in the process of taking-off.(6) The disparity between the center of Gravity and the height of the pole is negatively correlated with the athletes’ performance, the smaller the disparity is, and the better the athletes’ performance is. In other words, the higher the efficiency of vaulting the pole, the better the performance is.(7) The moderate pole vaulting height is the precondition of prancing higher, the fast run-up speed is the motive power of achieving a better performance, the height of prancing is the key to attaining a good result, and to shorten the disparity between the height of prancing and the height of the pole guarantees a better performance. And these above four rules are the essence and refinement of the laws of winning in Pole Vault Competition.
