Known as "The Last Frontier", Alaska is located in the rural area of the United States of America. The population mixture, culture, and other traditions are extremely different than other contiguous states. As Chinese studies become more and more popular in recent year, Confucius institute and Confucius classroom have also established in extreme rural area like Alaska and have host a lot of various Chinese cultural events.As the progression on Chinese study development continues, on 2013, Confucius classroom was established in Mt. Edgecumbe High School, located in Sitka, Alaska. The author of this article has the honor to be the first Chinese teacher assigned to this Confucius classroom and start a two year Chinese educational work there. The author has chosen the teaching experience in Mt. Edgecumbe high school as a base reference in conducting this research. This research used surveys, interviews, and actual teaching experience to understand the current Chinese teaching condition in Mt. Edgecumbe High School, further investigate into problems pertaining to the Chinese teaching program, and finally provide recommendation on solution to the problems. The main objective of this research is to provide a basic understanding about the demographics and conditions to future Chinese teacher who will be assigned to this area or people who are interested in knowing more about the area.This article is divided into 8 main parts. The first part describes the details regarding the research condition, purpose, and method. The second part provides the current situation analysis of Mt. Edgecumbe High school. The third part focuses on High school Chinese teaching condition in Mt Edgecumbe high school. The fourth part is the study of the audience in the Chinese class. The fifth part summarizes the local teaching method through personal live teaching experience. The sixth part is about the promotion of Chinese culture in Mt. Edgecumbe High school, Sitka, and Confusion Institude. The seventh part concludes the investigation and point out the four main problems. The final part is to provide suggestions and solutions to the problems.
