Mechanics concept is the foundation of the high school physics course, and also the basis of physics. Under the influence of examination-oriented education, high school physics teachers don’t pay enough attention to the intelligence development level and cognitive law of students. In the teaching process, high school physics teachers are eager to present the content of the concept, but they put a lot of time and energy in explanation of the exercises. This anxious teaching method can only leave the abstract definition in the students’mind, instead of a true understanding of the concepts before applying them to solve actual problems. Concepts come from life and experiments. The spirit of this research is that, how can the teachers create situations to help the students master the scientific method to understand the concepts in the process of participation and experience.By questionnaire survey and classroom observation, this research finds out the present status and problems of the application of the creating situation teaching method, and then combs the theories about creating situation methods and defines the related concepts. On the basis of the work above, this research gives out the principles that teachers must follow:focused, object oriented, true, scientific, inspiring and whole. According to the form, this research classifies the situations used in high school mechanics teaching by:life, story, experiment, question and simulation. At last, this research develops the strategies of creating situations in high school mechanics concept teaching, which are stimulating students’interests, inducing cognitive conflict, conforming to students’ intelligence, making use of multimedia and combining education with entertainment. Under the guidance of the three links in high school mechanics concept teaching:the introduction, establishment and application, these strategies must be based on the high school students’existing cognitive level and practical experience. As a application of the strategies, this research gives out three typical teaching cases according to qualitative concept and quantitative concept.
