| As we all know, vocabulary is an important part of the language. It is the key in the language teaching. It is also the basic of the English four skills,listening, speaking, reading and writing. The vocabulary teaching is a part of decision of significance in junior English teaching.In fact, no matter the students or the teachers didn’t find a good way to learn or to teach the vocabulary effectively. So teachers want to find a method to teach vocabulary which can let students master the vocabulary in a short time. The lexical chunk teaching method is a good way to solve this problem.The research is based on this method and study how to put it into the English teaching, at the same time, it can improve students’ ability to use language and their English scores.In order to prove the lexical chunk teaching method is helpful to the students, two experiment tools are used in the study. First of all, a contrast experiment has been adopted in the research.Choose two parallel classes, one class is a control class and use the traditional teaching method; another is a experiment class and use the lexical chunk teaching method. Through the three months, the author will analyze the data of the experiment. Then the results indicate that lexical chunk teaching method is effective. Second, after using the lexical chunk teaching method, the author want to know the usage of this method and the students’ attitudes to this method. So a questionnairewill be used in this study. The data of the questionnaire is collected by SPSS17.0. According to the analysis of the results of the questionnaire, most students are willing to learn English with the help of lexical chunk approach and their interests of English learning is aroused.There are five parts in this paper: Introduction, Literature Review,Research Design, Results Analyses and Conclusion. Introduction mainly is told the background of this study, the significance of the research and the structure of this thesis. Chapter two is introduced a critical review about EFL vocabulary teaching at home and abroad, it is also introduced the definitions,features and classifications of the lexical chunks. Chapter three is presented the application of lexical chunks to English teaching, it is also showed us the methodology of this study, which includes subjects, procedure,results and discussion.
