Southern Xinjiang Minority Nationality College Students Study Chinese Culture Identity

As an indispensable awareness activities to a nation, Cultural identity plays an important role in national cohesion and social common ideal pursuit. In China, with the further communication and the stronger cultural globalization, various social ideological trend has to some degree brought impact on Marxism. The most obvious phenomenon is on college students, especially on the ones of ethnic minorities. As a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-religious coexistent region, China’s southern Xinjiang with its special geographical and cultural environment, renders its own cultural identity under great pressure. College students of ethnic minorities in southern Xinjiang is on the threshold of forming their outlook on world, life and values and other ideas, therefore, their education of Chinese cultural identity should be strengthened, otherwise, it is possible for them to be used by Religious extremism ethnic separatist forces and international terrorist forces, which gives rise to an unstable Xinjiang. therefore, strengthening the Chinese cultural identity of minority students and adhering to the leadership of Marxism in the field of ideology, are not only the inevitable requirement of the socialist path with Chinese characteristics, but also the important guarantee of national security and stability in Xinjiang. Therefore, This paper attempts to analyze and discuss the Chinese cultural identity from college students of ethnic minorities.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part focuses on the importance of the Chinese cultural identity of college students ethnic minorities in southern Xinjiang, from the angles of enhancing the identity of the motherland, cultivating socialist core values and promoting multi-ethnic cultural exchange in southern Xinjiang.In the second part, we find out the factors influencing the Chinese cultural identity of college students of minorities in southern Xinjiang by comprehensively investigating and analyzing the current situation.The third part deals with how to promote the Chinese cultural identity among minorities college students, and provides a reference for the Chinese cultural identity of minority students.
