| The social emotional competence refers to the individual to be able to recognize and manage their own emotions, understanding their own values, concerning and caring for the others, making responsible decisions, at the same time to build and maintain positive relationships, and equipping with the ability against challenging situations. According to the Ministry of Education- International Children’s fund "social and emotional learning" project group division, social emotional competence includes six dimensions: self awareness, awareness of others, collective consciousness, self management, management of people, collective management. The different levels of the social emotional competence have a great impact among young students, such as frustrationã€improper behavior and low sense of achievement which will have something to do with the future`s success. Former researches show, the issue of learning burnout and emotional problems, interpersonal relationship, there is a significant correlation between self management problems. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the primary and secondary school students learning burnout and social emotional ability, academic achievement. This study uses the "Learning Burnout Questionnaire" and "middle school students" social emotional scales. The questionnaire survey was conducted among 824 students in five schools on two cities Nanning and Chongzuo. Results show:1, The middle school students` social emotional competence has six dimensions: others` recognization(3.652), self recognization(3.581), others` management(3.550), collective recognization(3.521), self management(3.470), collective management(3.442). Others` recognization has the highest marks among all those dimensions;2, The middle school students` social emotional competence has relationships with parents` education level. Students whose parents` education level is high will have a high social emotional competence than the others;the middle school students` social emotional competence has relationships with the family structure, Normal family children have a significance high social emotional competence than those with just one parent or none;the middle school students` social emotional competence has relationships with whether they are left-behind children or not. Non left behind children have a significance high social emotional competence than those left behind children;the middle school students` social emotional competence has relationships with their grades. Grade nine and seven students` social emotional competence is higher than other grade students.3, The middle students` learning burnout is on a high level. The learning burnout has three dimensions: frustrationã€improper behavior and low sense of achievement(3)(mean mark), with frustration getting the highest marks( 3.42), low sense of achievement getting 3.36 marks, improper behavior getting 3.12 marks.4, Frustrationã€low sense of achievement on the learning burnout and difference of the sex, There is a relationship. Middle school students’ learning burnout and grade is a significant difference. Grade eight students on the dimensions` marks are significant higher than other grade students. Middle school students’ learning burnout and whether they are left behind children, between those two aspects there is a significant difference. Those left behind children could easily be frustration than the others. Parents` education level is high, the students` learning burnout tends to get low marks, Parents` education level is low, the students` learning burnout tends to get high marks, Middle school students’ learning burnout and parents` education level is a significant negative correlation.5, middle school students’ social emotional ability and learning burnout is a significant negative correlation.Conclusion: the factors affecting social emotional competence are so many, the family structure, parents` education level, left-behind children or not, and students of middle school students will influence. The results show students with high level on the behavior of social emotional competence, that their social emotional ability of the learning burnout is relatively low. |
