Writing is a complex mental activity, which is not only influenced by the cognitive activities, but also by the emotion activity. The reachers defined the affective factors which can influence people’s writing process as "writing disposition". Although the domestic and foreign researchers are interested in the writing disposition, but few experts devote to the research on it and no systematic theory and measurement instrument aimed at students of different countries is set up. In order to fill the blank, this research designed a set of measuring tools to investigate the writing disposition of fouth, fifth and sixth grade elementary school pupils, which was based on the structure of writing disposition. This study also discuss the relationship between writing disposition and writing achievement. In addition, combined with writing level and writing subject, we explored the effect of writing sisposition of writing performance. using interviewing method, questionnaire survey and experimental method, the research conducted a series of empirical studies about the writing disposition of the students in primary school, and obtained the main conclusions as follows:(1)《Writing dispositions questionnaire for elementary school students》. This questionnaire consists of 25 items, including three dimensions: Passion, Confidence, and Persistence. Through the statistics and the inspection of the questionnaire, the results showed that its coefficient of internal consistency is 0.917, and internal consistency coefficient of three dimensions are all above 0.7. The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that, the questionnaire has good construct validity. Therefore, the questionnaire has good reliability and validity, and it not only can used for measuring and evaluating the level of pupils’ writing disposition, but also can be used for the further research on the writing disposition aspect.( 2) Study on the relationship between writing disposition and writing achievement. The researcher used《Writing dispositions questionnaire for elementary school students》to evaluate the writing disposition of the forth to sixth grade pupils, then discussed the relationship between writing disposition and writing achievement. The result revealed that the pupils’ writing disposition level is medium. Girls’ writing dispositions are better than boys’. With the increase of grade, writing disposition showed a downward trend. Moreoer, The Pearson moment’s correlation coefficient analysis showed that there was a positive significant correlation between students’ and writing dispositions their writing achievement. It was also found that students’ writing Dispositions were a significant predictor of their writing achievement, especially confidence and persistence.(3)Study on the effect of writing disposition, writing level and writing subject on writing performance. In this part, we chose 226 five-grade primary students who were with different writing level to measure their writing disposition. They should finish an article according to the project requirements. The result showed that writing level and writing disposition can influence the students’ writing performance. Writing performance also was influenced in the interaction of this three factors. Students who were low writing disposition but high writing level achieved a better composition performance with positive subjet then negative subjet.
