As we all known that English writing skill is one of the four basic skills of English learning, English writing part is an indispensable part of middle school’s English teaching. It aims to train the use of the knowledge they have learned before, to test the students’ comprehensive language skills and the flexible use of the language. English writing part runs in to the whole process of English teaching. However, the current situation of middle school students’ writing teaching is not optimistic. Writing is a difficult part for the beginners of English learners. Middle school students do not know what to do when they facing to the writing tasks, meanwhile, writing is a big problem of their English learning.Therefore, this study aimed at the problem of the English writing from middle school students, and this study is based on experiment of reading-to-writing method. Whether the teaching method of reading and writing is to promote the improvement of the students English writing ability from middle school. This study aims to examine the availability of the method, and explores the influence of the method to English writing. Based on this, the paper provides the guidance to the English writing teaching of middle school, and achieve the purpose of improving middle school students English writing teaching.This study consists of the following three parts: first, to know the current situation of the reading and writing study in the middle school through the questionnaire paper; second,analysis the score of English reading and writing, find the connection of reading and writing;third, discussion of the question that whether the method is an effective writing teaching method and whether it can improve the students’ writing ability through teaching with reading-to-writing approach.The major findings were presented as follows: reading-to-writing approach can help middle school students improve their writing skill; it can help students writing in an logical way and imitating the reading materials, express their thoughts in a clear way; it also can help students writing in English textual pattern, reduce the number of students writing sentences in Chinese textual pattern.The enlightenment of this study is in English writing teaching, through the reading activities to develop students’ writing ability, reading and writing is combined withmaximum limit to use the knowledge gained from reading to improve students’ English writing ability. However, “reading-to-writing” is unable to solve all kinds of problems of teaching method, in the use of this reading-to-writing approach should considered of the actual situation.
