Under the background of social change, the rural wedding consumption problems appear new characteristics constantly. This paper attempts to analyze the rural youths’ weeding consumption and the paper is taking the X village as the example to explain the symbol consumption phenomenon. The research applied quantitative methods, through depth interviews and field observation to explain the symbolic consumption. Through research we found that the rural youth’s wedding consumption appears strong symbol consumption characteristics at this moment, some symbol significance appears in the process of the rural youth’s marriage consumption brand, fashion and the conspicuous is the new characters of rural youth’s marriage. Through the survey we can found that the reason why the rural youth’s wedding consumption appears this kind of characteristics is relate to the development of the economy, rural youth’s identity anxiety and technical support of the mass media.This paper is mainly divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction, mainly introduces the background, the significance of the paper, the overall research design, the related basis theory and the basic situation of the location.The second part mainly analyzes the present stage of the rural youth’s symbol consumption in the marriage, through the analysis and the description of the X village’s youths’ symbol consumption at the every stage of the marriage, telling the symbolic features in the process of the marriage consumption phenomenon, and display the symbol consumption at a overall view.The third part, on the basic of the second part, pointed out the characteristics of the rural youth’s weeding consumption through to the overall grasp of the rural youth’s marriage consumption. Brand consumption, the pursuit of the fashion and conspicuous is the new characteristic of the rural youth’s wedding consumption at the present.The fourth part mainly analyzes the reason of the popular of the symbolic consumption in the rural youth’s marriage. The development of the economy, the collapse of the old local specification is the basic of the rural youth’s symbol consumption, the lost of the rural youth’s identity in the social mobility is the main reason of the symbol consumption and the development of the mass media makes the support for the rural youth’s symbol consumption.The fifth part is mainly to summarize the rural youth wedding consumer and points out the deficiency of the paper.
