The wedding consumption belongs to the typical symbol consumption.Its consumption content all have the strong symbolic meaning. As Baudrillard’ s thought, having the practical value no longer is the goal of modern society. Bear the brunt of the wedding is symbol consumption. Contemporary urban youth are in the special historical period, they are in the economic development of our country after reform and opening-up, people’s lives rich direct beneficiary, also a generation of the one-child policy continuity. The youth are in a such special position yet have arrived the age of marriage, and for this group of peoples’ wedding consumption content, consumption psychology and consumption idea of the research is just getting started. As is known to all, with the rapid development of economy, per capita income rises ceaselessly, unprecedented rich material life, and the wedding consumption is rising up,it presents the trend of increasing year by year. But whether pure wedding consumption amount can conclude that the rise of contemporary urban youth wedding symbols to conspicuous consumption, comparison of heresy? And whether is normal prices rising consumption rise? In this paper, from the Angle of symbol consumption to Zhengzhou city as an example, the integrated use of literature research method, questionnaire approach and deep interviews, further explores contemporary urban youth wedding symbol consumption content, consumption psychology and consumption idea, combining with the results of other researchers found that the change, explore its profound influence factor, found in contemporary urban youth in wedding symbol consumption problems, and tries to put forward the reasonable countermeasures and suggestions.Although the wedding consumption is at the beginning of the reform and opening up, people’s living standard had tremendous promotion stage and presented the conspicuous and compare some characteristics. But the study founded that the phase is over, the contemporary urban youth on wedding symbol consumption presents a more rational return, is the rational pursuit of personality and cultural significance. No longer see that the whole family pay for the marrige, extreme luxury wedding has disappeared, more contemporary urban youth in wedding symbol consumption can accomplish their cloth, they become a mature consumption psychologyand a consumption concept of neutrality.
