The Construction Of Village Identity Under The Perspective Of Common Interests

Xi Pu "Village is a historical village, due to the changes of the times, the glorious history of Xi Pu Village was gradually buried. Hebei Province in 2014, vigorously promote the "rural appearance upgrade" activities. Xi Pu Village,the historical country has achieved great success from the village renovation. The purpose of studying the village renovation is to describe the entire process of upgrading the entire village upgrade action. To understand the villagers’ psychological, attitude and participation in each phase, and to analyze the upgrade of the village profile transformation, whether the villagers produce sense of village identity, how does it product the sense of village identity, and whether there is a correlation between the sense of village identity and the common interest. I use the chance of the observation in Institute for China Rural Studies in Central China Normal University, to research the Xi Pu Village. Through the in-depth interviews with the village cadres, village working group members and the villagers, get rich first hand material. Through case analysis, studying from the perspective of common interests, how does the sense of village identity come to be constructed. This paper has found that with the common interests of farmers from the "slack" to "value", then change to "copolymerization", the sense of identity of the village changed from the original "dormancy" to "awakening", and then to " rebirth ", the relationship between common interests and village identity has been demonstrated. At the end of the paper, proposing the effective pathes of building the sense of village identity. Those are government’s intervention and promotion, support and coordination of cadres and the masses, and the traction of common interests, In addition, this paper also found that, the village identity in Xi Pu Village which form from the village renovation features of universality and diversity. The construction and cohesion of the sense of village identity also had a profound positive meaning to the future development of the Xi Pu Village.
