Since the year of 1985 when the concept of learning disability came up, people have conducted scores of relevant researches in many areas, such as medical science, physiology, psychology, education and so on. So far, it is one of the most important research fields in psychological circles and educational circles. With the rapid development of economy and society, especially under the policy of family planning, the only children have become the primary research objects. The more people put expectations on their children, the more they focus on the educational qualities. Besides lagging behind the others, they also have problems with behaviors that might hinder their development both physically and psychologically. Probably, they would cause social problems when growing up.Therefore, after interviewing some learning disability students, I find them expecting to improve the studies and overcome low self-esteem as well as communicate and respect other people. According to these wishes, the writer conducted some self-development activities in groups. Those activities were based on group work and social work model with professional knowledge such as Superiority Theory, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory, and Social cognitive theory. I hope they can get to know themselves, learning to get along with others and releasing their potential abilities. Thus, they could gradually grow into confident and positive social beings in the future.
