Combined with the present situation of education in China and the intensive development of the basic education curriculum reform, Curriculum Standard has become the main study file which instructs education teaching work. Carefully studying on the Biology Course Standard, we could found that it makes clear requirements on the teaching goal in teaching design. The action verbs used in writing teaching goal can regulate the teachers’ teaching behavior, and there are a lot of different action verbs in the three-dimension object. The action verbs used in writing content standard are characterized by clear teaching behavior, observable students’learning behavior, and measurable learning outcomes. However, whether the teachers have clear understanding of the action verbs or not will directly influence teachers’teaching behaviors and students’ learning effect. The determination of the teaching goal has the most directly guidance for classroom teaching effect and it takes the fundamental position in teaching design. So, we must attach great importance to it.The method of literature research and case analysis are mainly used in this paper to study on the cognitive teaching goals in biology course standard. Through searching the resources from Guangxi Normal University’s library and the Internet, the author categorizes the periodical literature at home and abroad, and summarizes the educators’research results on the present situation of the classification of cognitive objectives.56 front-line middle school biology teachers,36 high school biology teachers in Guilin and 43 middle school biology teachers in Qinzhou are taken as the research object. The teaching designs which are applied by teachers in real teaching process are analyzed in this paper; based on the teacher’s teaching design, the action verbs in the cognitive goal level are arranged and classified, and the evaluation system of teacher-use action verbs are established.The research results reflect that in the process of designing teaching goals, some of the teachers have an obscure understanding of the three-dimension goal level and action verbs, so they can not use action verbs properly. Some examples show that some problems exist in the present teaching design, therefore, the author tries to analyze the reasons to the situation, summarizes the use of cognitive goal action verbs in middle school biology teachers’teaching plans, finds out a way to use cognitive goal level action verbs properly, and tries to establish scientific evaluation standard, aiming at providing some theoretical basis to the training of middle school biology teachers and the cultivation of the students majoring in education in teacher colleges.Some scholars at abroad just research classifications and constitutions of cognitive goals,and try to use them in the subjects of Chinese,Maths,Psychology,Chemistry,Politics and History and so on.The research combines Biology,and builds evaluation system of Cognitive goal action verbs,which contributes to studying action verbs of biology teaching.
