The parents are their children’s first teachers, and also have the earliest, most direct and most profound impact on their children. Moreover, the younger the children are, the greater they are influenced by their parents. In the process of family education, family education concepts have direct effect on methods, strategies and behaviors in which parents cultivate their children. Reasonable education philosophy and scientific education methods of parents can effectively promote the overall development of their children’s physical and mental health. Therefore, the study on the education concepts of parents of 3-6 years old children is very important to promote the comprehensive healthy development of children, improve the quality of parents and family education quality.This study adopts questionnaire, interviews survey and comparative research methods. Research tools have been formed based on previous studies and have been revised through pre-research. Therefore, the final questionnaire has good reliability and validity. The total number of respondents is 400 chosen from 10 urban and rural kindergartens in Nanning, Guilin and Hechi cities and 334 valid questionnaires are finally obtained. At the same time,20 urban and rural parents who have participated in the survey have been selected randomly to participate in the semi-structured interviews. Such survey is aimed to understand the current condition of and the differences between, the education concepts of urban and rural parents of 3-6 years old children and make comparison and analysis on the differences and similarities of the education concepts of urban and rural parents. At the same time, corresponding recommendations have been made in respect of issues and differences of the education concepts of urban and rural parents in order to improve the education concepts of urban and rural parents.Based on the survey results, there are both similarities and differences in the education concepts of urban and rural parents. Such similarities mainly include:1. urban and rural parents have relatively limited knowledge on the ways in which their children become a talent and have high expectation on their children; 2. both urban and rural parents have harmonious relationship with their children and live with their children on equal terms; 3. both urban and rural parents place emphasis on their children’s intellectual development and grant them certain rights; 4. both urban and rural parents have a strong sense of education responsibility and cultivate their children in a democratic way. The main reasons for the above is the gradual refreshment of education concepts of both urban and rural parents affected by the refreshment and development of education philosophy in new times. However, at the same time, affected by the mainstream cultural values, the education concepts of both urban and rural parents are also characterized by seeking quick success.Based on the survey results, such differences of education concepts between urban and rural parents mainly include:1. Parents in rural areas have fewer knowledge on a talent than urban parents; 2. urban parents have higher expectation on level of education of their children than rural parents; 3. urban parents conduct more frequent interaction with their children than rural parents; 4. urban parents pay more attention to the importance of game to learning than rural parents; 5. urban parents have more specific education responsibilities than rural parents.Rural parents. Such differences of education concepts between urban and rural parents are mainly attributable to the fact that they are living in a different social environment. Moreover, different cultural quality and different influence of traditional concepts are also main reasons for the differences of education concepts of urban and rural parents.Based on analysis of the current status of education concepts of urban and rural parents, urban parents shall have an education concept of diversifying talent-cultivation and focusing on capacities, while rural parents shall not only constantly learn more in order to improve their own cultural quality, but also strengthen communication with teachers in kinderg.Moreover, the governmental and regime guarantee shall be strengthened.
