The study takes the form of choices test, which is used to examine the teachers and students’ understanding of English reflexives constraints features by comparing their different performances in the bi-finite clausal sentence, bi non-finite clausal sentence and mono clausal sentence. Furthermore, the statics are got according to their understanding about the local binding, long distance binding, and subject orientation. Then relevant analyses are made to the results of the two groups according to SPSS instrument. The conclusions are listed as following:(1)Principles and parameters theory is accessible to Chinese High School students’ acquisition of English reflexives.( 2) There exists differences in High school students’ acquisition of mono clausal sentences and bi clausal sentences.(3)The English learners have some difficulties in acquiring the local binding feature of English reflexives, especially in the bi non-finite clausal sentences.(4) It is very difficult for Chinese English learners to understand the English reflexives in mono clausal sentences.(5)The degree of sensitivity to English reflexives decreases with the English proficiency. In addition, the thesis discusses the enlightenment of this study to High school English teaching. Teachers should pay much attention to the English reflexives and try to give particular corresponding instructions. Adequate knowledge concerning differences between Chinese reflexives and English reflexives should be given to the learners so as to avoid negative influence caused by their mother language. In a sense, the proficiency of English reflexives can reflect the degree of learners’ English mastery. It’s possible that Students’ English proficiency can be enhanced greatly by targeted language teaching and enforcement, which may facilitate the acquisition of English reflexives.
