Basketball is an open motor skills, is a multi-disciplinary education, sociology, biology, training, management and other cross-cutting penetration sport. "National Teaching Guidelines college sports course" was promulgated in 2002, marking the launch of a new round of comprehensive sports curriculum reform, the basketball program is an important part of college physical education in promoting quality education, the basketball program also faces important reform.In this paper, Hubei independent college basketball programs for the study were randomly selected as the focus of the survey of the 26 independent colleges in Hubei Province, a representative of 6, through literature, questionnaires, interviews, statistics, logic analysis and other college basketball programs in Hubei Province to investigate the independent analysis, identify the problems faced by basketball curriculum reform, and to propose measures and recommendations for reform. Through investigation the following conclusions:In this paper, Hubei independent college basketball programs for the study, as the focus of the survey to extract the 26 independent colleges in Hubei Province, a representative of 6 according to school affiliation, geographical, educational nature and other characteristics, through literature, questionnaire, interview, mathematical statistics, logical analysis of Hubei Province to investigate independent college basketball program analysis, identify the problems faced by basketball curriculum reform, and to propose measures and recommendations for reform. Through investigation the following conclusions:First, basketball curriculum reform will help improve teaching quality. Through curriculum reform and improve the basketball program structure, to broaden the coverage of the basketball program, a clear teaching objectives, optimize the teaching methods to enhance the students’interest, so as to achieve the purpose of improving the quality of teaching. Second, basketball curriculum reform will help improve student fitness. Through curriculum reform, strengthening the invisible class management, there are plans to increase the student’s exercise time, by special physical exercise, enhance physical fitness of students. Third, basketball curriculum reform will help students comprehensive ability. Through curriculum reform, strengthening the management of extra-curricular activities, basketball, basketball club students through participation in extracurricular self-organization and self-management, training a student organization and coordination, teamwork, problem analysis and problem-solving skills, and social adaptability and so on. Fourth, the basketball curriculum reform will help students develop good exercise habits. Through curriculum reform, changes in teaching and learning concepts, combining the teaching culture in the basketball and basketball practice, guide students to discover the basic principles of basketball, to master the method of creative problem-solving, will help improve students’understanding of basketball, understanding of education, health, heart health, entertainment and other cultural and basketball are included to enhance students’enthusiasm and initiative, so as to establish a correct view of health and lifelong sports consciousness.In response to these conclusions made the following recommendations:First, teaching in teaching can be layered. Students from entering school basketball elective courses can be opened, due to the uneven level of students, the placement can be performed at different levels of teaching, such as regular classes according to students’ individual differences, such as physical fitness, basic skills, such as basic level, improving classes that allows teachers more focused in the teaching process, students can learn from each other through mutual comparison, by competing with each other to improve. Second, schools must increase funding. For curriculum reform, school leaders should pay attention to the first, to be sure of sports training highly qualified personnel in the school during the active role played by. Secondly, the school should further increase capital investment, strengthen infrastructure basketball, basketball actively improve teaching conditions, to meet the needs of teachers and students in teaching and extracurricular basketball activities.
