Under the influence of the eighth successful curriculum reform, new curriculum ideas deeply rooted and changed our traditional teaching models and teaching methods, experts and scholars, educational administrators, teachers will be teaching front line focus gradually shifted from its original focus on teaching to a focus on students’ knowledge self-learning ability. Under the influence of new ideas, and our dominant position in the student teaching emphasizes learning, attention to students’ independence, under the guidance of the teacher’s help, active learning, active exploration, and gradually form a new way of learning.However, with respect to the classroom, our operations on the extracurricular reform made little success. The quantity and quality of homework has been our educators, students and parents were concerned about a hot topic, but the content of homework, format, source, student homework should be the role of teachers should give students what effective lack of guidance and so on attention, this, the result is not effectively enhance their students’ self-learning ability through homework, homework is also free philosophy and curriculum reform, beyond the objectives and effective implementation.In this paper, the results of combined teaching practice of self-learning and foreign combing research and related studies of homework has to junior high school English homework, for example, the status of junior high school students self-learning ability to investigate and survey data make relevant training strategy. I chose this survey, Hangzhou City, Zhe Jiang Province, student teachers an ordinary three-year public high school English teaching segments and to investigate, by studying the current situation of English homework in junior high school, high school students to explore the level of self-learning ability status.In this paper, the following aspects of self-learning ability of middle school students to explore: a necessity to improve the self-learning ability, as well as domestic and foreign research progress of self-learning ability; second, through junior high school English homework survey questionnaire and interviews and otherinvestigative techniques to explore the level of high school students self-learning ability; three, on the basis of SPSS data analysis combined with self-learning theory,strengthen independent learning strategies to guide and improve the awareness of independent learning, updating teaching ideas and other methods to improve students’ autonomous learning ability.
