Such collective bargaining is usually held once every six years. A new agreement will be reached by both sides through revenue-sharing negotiation following the expiration of the previous agreement. The continuous negotiations maintain the relative balance between labors and capital, thus ensure the orderly development NBA league.This article studies the collective bargaining agreement of 2011 and it is found that collective bargaining agreement is reached under a sound system, detailed regulations, as well as some special provisions, which plays a vital role in the stable development of NBA. At present, there is still great room for domestic sports industry to improve. With the evolvement of professional basketball league, it is crucial to coordinate the relationship between labor and capital under a perfect sports market system for the rapid and harmonious development domestic professional basketball league. Therefore, the in-depth research over NBA collective bargaining agreement and acquaintance of the internal legal system of world’s top professional sports league will be of great significance for Chinese counterparts. At the same time, this article analyzes the application of collective bargaining system in domestic professional basketball league, and put forward several proposals for the league development and collective bargaining.1. Improve the sports management, adhere to the tripartite mechanism of professional sports, and establish international athletes unions. Balance the rights between project management centers, clubs, and athletes and coordinate the internal and external environment. Guarantee the dominant status of athletes and improve the competitive status of Chinese athletes.2. Promote the rationalization of domestic revenue distribution and improve the laws and regulations. Coordinate the interests of the athletes and the club and protect the fundamental rights and interests of the athletes. Establish favorable competitive incentive mechanism and effectively improve the quality of the league.3. Improve the dispute processing mechanism. Learn from the advanced experience of NBA’s collective bargaining contract and solve the labor disputes through mediation, arbitration, and judicial action.
