There are three main kinds of knowledge in the field of cognitive psychology:declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge and strategic knowledge. Then students learn each kind of knowledge by means of different approaches accordingly, and the specific teaching design for the special kind of knowledge is the efficient method which will contributes students’ study and their mastering of knowledge. Moreover, middle school students are required to possess the ability of learning, thinking, then getting knowledge independently, what is more, they are requested to be able to analyze and solve problems with the knowledge that they have gained, all the skills above are not only in close pace with the development of modern society, but also the goals of quality-oriented education. It is the teaching design of strategic knowledge that can help reach all aims above, because this kind of teaching design will improve the efficiency of study.This thesis aims at studying the concept of strategic knowledge, shows the characteristics of this kind of knowledge and then reflects the relationships among strategic knowledge, thought and methods of mathematics. I have introduced numerous cases of strategic knowledge which is in accordance with traits and teaching of the junior middle school’s mathematics, they are: classified discussion, transformation-integration,combination of numbers and graphs, teaching of mathematical rules and teaching of mathematical concept. Besides, this article has listed a number of measures of teaching for strategic knowledge, made different teaching designs according to each strategic knowledge and analyze many mathematical strategies, such as general-specific,specific-general, visualized strategy, familiarized strategy and abstracting strategy of practical problem.The teaching of strategic knowledge will not only improve the teaching quality of teachers, but also will make great impacts to the learning strategies of students.Meanwhile, the strategic knowledge can enhance the learning efficiency and performance of students who will able to use the knowledge flexibly. More importantly, this kind ofknowledge will help students master the capacity of learning and thinking, then benefits all their lifetime.
