One of the basic concept of2011compulsory education chemistry curriculumstandard is to provide students with more opportunities to experience the process ofscientific inquiry, to develop scientific attitude in the process of knowledge’s forming,connecting with each other and application, to learn scientific methods and to cultivatestudents’ innovation spirit and practice ability in the practice of exploring the science.Therefore, in order to comply with the requirements of the basic concept and cultivateinnovative talents, it is necessary to improve and innovate junior middle school chemistryexperiments with students as the fundamental concept.This paper adopted questionnaire survey, literature retrieval, practice research andcomparative analysis methods to understand the present situation of junior middle schoolchemistry experiment improvement and innovation with students as the fundamentalconcept, analyzed and reflected the present situation, summed up the problems that theteachers faced in experimental improvement and innovation without students as thefundamental concept, to explore how to improve the experiment and innovation based onthis idea and form a set of effective teaching strategies to apply in chemical experimentteaching. The teaching practice has proved that implementing junior middle schoolchemistry experiment improvement and innovation strategies with students as thefundamental concept in experiment teaching, not only stimulated the students’ interest inlearning, improved the students’ learning attitude and enhanced the students’ learningabilities, but also changed teachers’ traditional experimental teaching ideas and improvedteachers’ teaching ability and levels, as a result, teachers and students improved anddeveloped at the same time.
