The Ordinary High School New Curriculum Standard proposed:High school mathematics curriculum should provide the basic content of actual background, and reflect the application value of the mathematics. High school mathematics curriculum should strive to make students realize the mathematics’role in solving practical problems and contact with daily life and other disciplines. It also promote students gradually form and development of mathematics application consciousness, improve the practice ability. Function which is the main content of middle school mathematics form a connecting link between the preceding and the following. Elementary mathematics and advanced mathematics make some crucial connect through function. Especially today which the application consciousness growingly deep, the essence of the function is to reveal the relationship of the amount between each other and restrict each other in the objective world. So the re-recognition of the concept of function, not only has the irreplaceable vital position, but also has important practical significance.Mentioned in the curriculum, the teaching of mathematics content must reflect the actual background, focus on practical application. However the concept of traditional teaching regard teaching as the center. Classroom learning environment closed, passive and unable to stimulate students’interest in learning, make students without a thorough understanding about the concept of the function. Case study of this paper is adapted from the concept of the first chapter1.2.1of the "the ordinary high school curriculum standard experiment textbook math I required (A version)".In recent years, under the background of the concept of function concept teaching research, the paper which based on the situated cognition theory make a further researched about teaching of the function concept. The paper introduces the development of the situated cognition theory, research present situation about domestic and foreign and significance for the education. It also made a survey on the present situation of function concept teaching, analyzes the present problems of the function concept teaching, and then make a teaching design to the "concept of function" based on the situated cognition theory, give cases some analysis and thinking, finally get the result of the test according to the investigation.Based on the theory of research we can give some teaching suggestions:(1)The situation combined with the actual life;(2)Creating situation by activity;(3) Creating situation through open-ended questions;(4)Creating situation through the contradiction between the old and new knowledge;(5)Creating situation by set up the cognitive conflict.
