Gender role attitudes have been gradually emphasized and studied in recent years as a significant indicator for gender role distribution in society. The attitudes held by people towards family and social labor division influence both the marital status and working spirit. The study of gender role attitudes among college students is the main method to acknowledge the social gender role attitudes generally, as well as a key strategy to do compare and trend study. Through the review of theories and practical research in China and abord, we have found that the gender role attitude study in abord is more systemic, it does conclude the trend study and cohort comparison, as well as the micro mechanism analysis. While the study in China is not professional and international at all. Many researchers designed the table by imagination and their life experience which is not quite scientific. To a large extent, we need to connect our study to the globalized academia. This paper is also a beginning for this effort. In this research, based on the study of742college students from all around China in Nanjing, learning about their family and education background, we have measured their gender role attitudes. In the meantime, we have compared the difference on gender role attitudes among male and female students, in which we found great division. For male students, the major and the occupation of mother both play significant role in their gender role attitudes. While for females, the factors are different. Therefore, we have combined the result of other people, making the model for post90th college students in China. Thus we have built a bridge between the aboard and China both in theory and practical research. In this research, we have found that the sex, single child or not, in love or not all have influence on gender role attitudes, while the single children are almost the same as the others. We found that sex has great influence on gender role attitudes, as predicted in previous researches. In the familial factors, the occupation of mother and the economic lag between parents are both influential to students, especially for the male students. While in the educational factors, the level of school and the major have different indicative function on gender role attitudes. On the familial and educational factors, the interest and exposed theory, social learning theory and social construction theory. Both these theories have different explanation in various levels. The gender distinction built by society still exists. The gender role attitudes will not only influence the behavior of college students as well as the expectation for their family and career. From the result, we concluded that they hold more of modern gender role attitudes. However, we still need to build employment and family policies that are more open and modern, making a more equal gender role institution to insure the basic rights for both men and women.
