| The elderly is an important part of society, and what’s more important in their life is their physical and mental health. Since entering the21st century, with the rapid development of China’s economy, taking care of the elderly in such basic conditions like eating and wearing is not able to meet the needs of contemporary old people. It is far fewer enough to pay attention to the elderly individual’s mental health and leisure activities. With the coming of the leisure time, leisure sports become prevalent in our country. Leisure sports is an important means to improve the quality of their life, thus to comprehend leisure sports demand of the elderly and develop the leisure entertainment and leisure fitness according to the demand of the elderly seems particularly important.Xi’an is a city which located at the heart of the northwest China and plays an important role in the economic development of western region. Also Bei Lin District is located in the heart of xi’an, with large population, especially the elderly population, which provides ample sources for investigation. This research uses the literature method, questionnaire survey method, observation method, interview method, and mathematical statistics method, etc. Having proceeded questionnaires and interviews toward the elderly in Bei Lin District, knowing the leisure sports development situation and the demand of the elderly in this area. Combining with the survey data, analyze the differences of the elderly leisure sports demand, and the influence factors and put forward the suggestions for developing the elderly leisure sports of Bei Lin District. |
