Study On Current Situations And Countermeasures Of Basketball Development In Competitive Sports Schools In Yantai City

The continually developing spiritual and material life brings the leap-developmentof basketball sport since the very beginning of21st century.Competitive basketball schools provide the strong foundation for the prosperousdevelopment of China basketball sport. Basketball of competitive school is vitallyimportant to the development of China basketball in the current transition stage ofChina basketball.Yantai city is the coastal and western city with relatively advanced economy.Basketball is one of the popular sports in Yantai and is well accepted during the broadmasses. Yantai has several competitive sports schools. This paper focuses on thecurrent development situations at competitive sports schools from Zhifu District,Muping District, Haiyang City, Laiyang City, Penglai City, Longkou City, LaizhouCity, Qixia city and Zhaoyuan City. The research contents include the situations ofcoaches, athletes, fields, equipments, cultural courses, revenue and expenditure offinance, the basketball training, the talents training, the implementation of thecombination of sports and education as well as basketball competitions, etc.The methods used during the process of research and analysis into the currentsituations and countermeasures of basketball development at every school of districtsand cities include: interview, logical approach, documentation method, method ofmathematical statistics and questionnaire, etc. The results find that:1. The popularity in sport school isn’t well enough; The training system of back-upstrength is not yet optimized and the management system is imperfect. Teenagersanticipating the basketball sport still think less of the sport itself but high ofcompetition, which prevails.2. All the capabilities of coachers need to be improved, especially theimplementation of methods of advanced training which specifically means thescientific and systematical methods dealing with the discrepancies of students.And theprofessional knowledge need to be reinforced.3. The lack of fund for the basketball training is acute. Little attentions are paid bythe governments and much more sponsorship form social organizations and companiesis desired.4. The cultural foundations of athletes are weak because of the contradictionsbetween studying the cultural courses and training as well as negligence of leaders andcoachers towards students’ cultural studies.
